據(jù)了解，由于國家鐵路相關(guān)產(chǎn)業(yè)的迅速發(fā)展以及相關(guān)政策的陸續(xù)出臺，我國在未來三年內(nèi)投資3.5多萬億元對鐵路進行基礎(chǔ)建設(shè)。在2009年，國家投資6000多億元在鐵路方面。在投資建設(shè)當中，快速客運網(wǎng)建設(shè)是其中的主要核心，因此受益大的方面是高速機車相關(guān)的加工技術(shù)與加工手段。

高速列車車體和大型覆蓋件：主要需要大量板材加工設(shè)備，如數(shù)控壓力機、數(shù)控剪板機、數(shù)控折彎機和鍛壓機。
動輪和車輪及車軸的加工是高速列車車輪系統(tǒng)中主要部分，批量較大，多采用專用自動生產(chǎn)線。車軸加工多采用由數(shù)控臥式車床和上下料機構(gòu)組成的自動生產(chǎn)線；車輪加工多采用以數(shù)控立式車床組成、并帶有自動上下料和翻轉(zhuǎn)機構(gòu)的自動線。數(shù)控道岔銑床則是高速列車鐵軌接頭和道岔加工采用的途徑。
機務(wù)段加工車輪主要使用數(shù)控專用仿形車輪車床或數(shù)控不落輪對車床，數(shù)控車軸車床是加工車軸通常采用的方法。
